dreamdance Academy was founded in 2009 by studio director, Peter Myre. ddA strives to provide a welcoming atmosphere where dancers have fun, learn to dance and express themselves creatively. With a degree in Elementary Education, Peter enjoys choreographing dances that may be described as “out of the box” because each one “tells a story”. The audience becomes engaged in the dance as it is performed on stage leaving them wondering what might be next.
At dreamdance Academy, the focus is on the dancers. Opportunities to perform in the community as often as possible. Annually, the studio performs in B105’s Dance for a Cure as well as local parades such as Hermantown Summer Fest, Spirit Valley Parade, Proctor Hoghead Parade, and the Christmas City of the North Parade. Dancers enjoy performing at the East, Central, and UMD dance shows where they join together with school dance teams and other dance studios.
dreamdance Academy also provides opportunities to dance in large scale events as well. Dancers at dreamdance Academy have performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Half-Time Show of the Orange Bowl twice, and most recently at the Indianapolis 500. Opportunities are often arising for big time performances and traveling opportunities for all dancers at the studio.
